Logging on the Arthur River, Takayna

June 8th, 2024

Last month, Forestry Tasmania commenced logging in Takayna native forest, FR002A. This forest is on the banks of the confluence of the Arthur and Frankland Rivers, and is home to many endangered species such as masked owls, sea eagles, wedge tailed eagles, quolls and Tasmanian devils.

The Bob Brown Foundation has been protesting this contentious logging and so far ten forest activists have been arrested defending this forest.
